This will alleviate the strain from your eyes during mid-nights.

So sit back and relax and view the youtube videos with less distraction and strain on your eyes.

Follow these steps.

If you don’t have the new layout, you’ll need to enable it by editing the cookie file.

Press Ctrl+Shift+I on the YouTube homepage to open developer window. Go to Application tab, and on the sidebar, go to Cookies>

In the table that opens there should be a row named ‘VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE’, double click the ‘value’ cell and replace it with this code: fPQ4jCL6EiE then press enter

Refresh the page, if the new layout is enabled, go to your avatar, and from the menu there should be a dark mode toggle.

You can also just open the console and paste:

var cookieDate = new Date();
cookieDate.setFullYear(cookieDate.getFullYear( ) + 1);
document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=fPQ4jCL6EiE; expires=" + cookieDate.toGMTString( ) + "; path=/";

into it and hit enter. That’ll set the cookie for a year.
